Carrie Snyder (right) talking with Cami Beckman at the Lotus 25th reunion.
This quarter, we’ve chosen one of Lotus Development’s earliest employees - Carrie Snyder Griffen - who many of you will
remember from past trade shows, Lotus Weeks and from Lotus’ public relations offices around the globe.
Following Lotus, Carrie was director of corporate operations for Co-nect, a provider of K-12 professional
development services. She then founded Griffen Events in Charleston, S.C., an events management company.
Inspired by her brother Tom Snyder, creator of award-winning animated programming for television including
Dr. Katz, Carrie decided to join the animation industry. With two business partners, Carrie started Clambake
Animation in December, 2006.
Clambake creates animated shows and shorts for networks, companies and individuals. Their client list
includes Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, WGBH, PBS, Candlewick Press, and Saatchi, as well as individual
creators who require Clambake’s range of production services - from writing, casting and recording to
animating, editing and pitching. Clambake also develops its own content for TV shows, shorts, and for
corporate marketing/sales tools.
"Building a software animation company from the ground up has been hugely rewarding" says Carrie.
"I am excited to work with my business partners, both extraordinarily creative and plugged into
the world of TV and the Web. Both are brilliant humorists. We’ve had a great time building a team
of 20+ talented individuals. Our goal is to foster a working environment much like that of Lotus,
where smart, creative people love to come to work. That we get paid to make people laugh is icing on the cake."
Carrie adds: "We enjoy working with our customers, striving to exceed their expectations.
They keep coming back for more, so that in itself is encouraging."
Carrie serves as Partner/Managing Director at Clambake Animation, where she is responsible for
the company’s business-- operations, finance, legal, human resources, business development and profitability.
Carrie lives in South Dartmouth, MA and Charleston, S.C., with her husband, William.
