I began my career at IBM in Providence, RI in Systems Engineering and then Sales. I joined Lotus in 1988
when I was recruited by Paul Paget and Jim McMullen, who I’d worked with at IBM, to establish Lotus’
first Small Business Marketing efforts. It was great fun helping product marketers understand how to
develop new sales and marketing strategies to reach new market segments.
In 1991, I went over to the Corporate Sales staff where I designed, built and worked with a cross
functional team to launch Lotus Passport. I ultimately ended up as Director of Executive Operations
before leaving Lotus in 1997.
In 1998, I founded my practice, Executive Consulting Services (ECS) and have been happily
consulting since. I was fortunate in my time at Lotus to be able to extend my sales experience
to explore marketing, business development and channels to have a unique value proposition to help
companies with their go to market strategies.
ECS helps companies of all sizes in all industries with sales and marketing challenges and
opportunities. I have personally helped to launch dozens of new companies and products, raised
many significant rounds of venture funding for my clients, and helped many larger companies to
launch global initiatives.
Along the way, I’ve consulted to or collaborated with many former Loti including but not limited to:
Paul Paget, Joe McLaughlin, Dave Champagne, Kim Shah, Rich Lanchantin, Dave Barrett, Bill Voltmer,
Joe O’Dowd, Al Stoddard, Greg Lazar, Mike Mitsock, Rick Proulx, Doug Jones, Lynne Capozzi, Kae Williams,
Phil Greenough, Larry McMenamy, Paul Ohrenberger, Elaine Salloway, MaryBeth Schoening, Greta Roberts,
Paula Goudsmit, Barbara Baird, Chad Huemme and others.
In addition, I volunteer my time as an Advisor to BetaSpring, a startup incubator in Providence,
and the MIT Enterprise Forum. I’ve shared my venture capital experience with the Center for Women
and Enterprise as a VC101 coach, and also participated in the Ernst and Young Venture Capital Advisory
Group. I also donate my time to the Mass Soldier’s Legacy Fund, a non-profit organization
established to honor fallen Massachusetts servicemen and women by helping to defray the costs
of their children’s college education.
I think I’ve attended every single AXLE event and look forward each time to
connecting with old friends and colleagues!
